My sister is a woman of action.
In between buisness meetings in Zurich and San Francisco, she squeezed in a 48 hour weekend in Kassel.
This was her 3rd time in Kassel, so the whole Wilhelmshoe-Therma-Staatstheater-Aue route was not an option. It was time to take things to a new level.
Her first bold move was to break up a fight that was brewing between Fred and me. We were walking through the city, and had started bickering as we reached Friedrichsplatz. We stopped right in the middle of the plaza where the walkways criss-cross in a giant X. A more conspicous place for a fight in all of Kassel would be hard to find. Before it got ugly, Kate intervened. "Salmon Soup at the Christmas Market, anyone?"
Then we wandered into the used furniture store around the corner 30 minutes before they closed for the weekend. After 10 minutes of checking out the selection, she talked us into buying a couch. Then she carried it home.
Having Kate here got me in the mood to decorate for Christmas.
(Thanks Mom for the decorations.)
And she even helped me break out of my usual lazy weekend routine. We were out of the house BEFORE noon......
And we even got a sunny day in Kassel.
My sister and I often get a kick out of the same things.
Creepy Christmas Angels
German Cleaning Supplies
Cooking
Childhood Flashbacks
The Alphabet
(Pop Quiz: What scientific system do these letters partially represent?)
I miss you already, Big Sis.
