Ebb & Flow

catcher was cancelled, so we rented a car and headed to berlin for 36 hours

first stop Kreuzberg, where one of the city's finest djs is down for the count.

after brunch we were off to the Haus der Kulturen der Welt for the main event, the BLK JKS show, and Mr. Robinson himself.

then Brazil played Ivory Coast and then we headed to the hotel and then to the first bar which we didn't go into and then to the second bar which had changed its location for the night to a ship so then into taxis down the river and across and then onto the ship where there was a reggae party that night.....

Which is how we ended up seeing the sun rising on the river out the windows of an old boat at 3am on the morning of the longest day of the year, which was last Monday. By the time we left the club an hour later to look for something to eat, it was dawn.

the next afternoon, brunch and strolling...

and on the way home to Kassel, a quick and insanely cold dip in the Vogelgesang See.

back in Kassel, it kept going - running in the hills, therme, Swahili breakfast, WM on TV, record shopping,

and seeing wee hours once again.

Once you get through the night, the dawn's nice and peaceful.
